Course Description: QPP Year 4: Navigating the Quality Payment Program as a Physical Therapist

With the 2019 Final Rule for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s Quality Payment Program, CMS adopted policies to expand the definition of the Merit-Based Incentive System’s (MIPS) eligible clinicians to include several new clinician types, and in particular, to include Physical Therapists.

The presentation on November 12th, 2019 will educate and inform Physical Therapists on what they are required, and not required, to do under the Quality Payment Program and MIPS. We will provide a general overview of the policy that created the program, also known as the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) Legislation, and how it was formed from the combination of three previous CMS Programs (Medicare Meaningful Use, Value-Based Modifier, and Physician Quality Reporting System). This presentation will also dive into the basics of each of the four performance categories: Quality, Promoting Interoperability, Improvement Activities, and Cost.

You will not want to miss Kentucky REC’s presentation as you find out how to participate in and attest for the 2019 performance year. You will also learn how the QPP will affect you going forward in your practice and provision of value-based healthcare as a Physical Therapist.
